Al Dhafra (D1) strengthened their roster with addition of 32-year old Croatian center Zvonko Buljan (206-87, college: TCU). He played most recently at Al Shamal in Qatari D1 league. Buljan managed to play in three leagues last year. He also played for BCM U FC Arges Pitesti (Liga Nationala) in Romanian league where in 5 games he recorded 8.8ppg, 4.8rpg, 1.8apg and 1.0spg. The other team Buljan played that season for was Okapi Aalstar (Euromillions League) in Belgian league. In 8 games he averaged 8.8ppg and 5.4rpg he also had a tryout with Al Gharafah in Qatar.
The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others he received Asia-Basket.com Iranian Superleague All-Imports Team awardbetween 2016 and 2017.
Buljan was a member of Croatian U18 National Team back in 2005.
He is quite experienced player. Thanks to Buljan's pro career he managed to play on four different continents (Europe, Asia, Latin America and of course North America) in fourteen different countries. Buljan has played previously professionally in Argentina (Estudiantes Concordia), Cyprus (Keravnos), France, Germany, Greece, Hungary (Kormend), Italy, Lebanon (Hoops Club), Slovenia (Krka), Switzerland (Neuchatel), Turkey, Uruguay (Aguada), Croatia (Split) and Iran (Kashan, Arak and Naft Abadan).
He attended Texas Christian University until 2010 and it will be his tenth season as a professional player.
